Group Stage Rules

Format:

  • Team American Padel format with matches played to 32 points + Final Stage

How It Works:

  • AMERICANO
  • Each pair will play 5 matches against all the other pairs in their group.
  • Scoring: Matches are played until the total score of 32 points is reached, with no tiebreaks or sudden death.
    • Example: In a match between Team Chianti and Team Amarone, if the final score is 14-18, Team Chianti earns 14 points, and Team Amarone earns 18 points. These points are added to each team’s overall total, which determines the group rankings. Every point matters!
  • Rotation:
    • Each player serves for 4 consecutive points, after which the serve passes to a player from the opposing pair.
    • This rotation continues until the total of 32 points is reached, ensuring each player serves 8 times in total during the match.

Important:

  • Points from all matches are accumulated to determine the rankings within each group.

Ranking and Final Phase

Rankings:

  • After all group matches, pairs will be ranked from 1st to 6th place within their group based on the total points accumulated during the group stage.

Break:

  • A break will follow the group stage, featuring Italian wine tasting and Italian-style sandwiches and focaccia offered by SIGNORVINO CHODOV

Final STAGE

  • The top-ranked pair from each group will face the second-ranked pair from the opposite group in two semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will play the final for 1st and 2nd place, while the losers will play for 3rd and 4th place.
  • Similarly, pairs ranked 3rd to 6th will compete in matches for 5th to 8th place and 9th to 12th place, respectively.
  • Matches in the final phase will be played on a 20-minute time limit with 2 minutes for warm-up.
  • The pair that wins the most games within the 20-minute time frame will advance to the next round.
  • Golden Point: At 40-40, the Golden Point rule applies, where the winner of the next point wins the game.
  • Tie-break: If the score is tied in games at the end of 20 minutes (e.g., 4-4), an additional deciding game will be played to determine the winner.
  • Game Completion Rule: At the end of the 20 minutes, the current game will be completed before the match ends.
